Happy Friday!! Last night I was able to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before Early Access today and I picked out a variety of pieces to share with all you that will probably sell out sooner than later! A few things to keep in mind when shopping the NSALE: This isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon. The NSALE runs over a period of three weeks so there’s no need to stress yourself out, although I know it can get overwhelming. Also, there’s no need to go broke or in debt over clothes so just shop for pieces that you absolutely love and need. You can never go wrong with basics, denim, boots and sweaters, and remember to have fun! Check out some of my NSALE picks below!
The 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here and “Early Access” starts tomorrow! During Early Access, Nordstrom cardholders get to shop the Anniversary Sale a full week before it opens to the public. In order to shop Early Access this year, you can apply for a Nordstrom Credit Card here to make sure you score the best deals before Public Access.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is the retailer’s biggest fashion event of the year where you can get your hands on all of fall’s new arrivals discounted before the season. The NSALE happens in two phases: Early Access and Public Sale and lasts for a couple of weeks from Friday, July 12 through Sunday, August 4. You can see the Full Anniversary Sale Catalog here.
Early Access for Nordstrom cardholders begins tomorrow at 12:30 EST! Allcardmembers, no matter the status or the type of card (e.g. Nordstrom retail card, Visa Signature and Platinum cards or debit) get exclusive access to shop brand new arrivals at a major discount before everyone else.
For non-cardholders, the Anniversary Sale opens to the public on Friday, July 19 and wraps on Sunday, August 4. If you aren’t a card holder, Nordstrom historically restocks items that have sold out during the Early Access window, but you have to keep an eye out.
Shop Early Access
I would highly recommend applying for a Nordstrom card before the sale opens to the public because the most popular items sell out fast during early access. If you love fall fashion, this is the time to stock up on boots, cardigans, dresses, long sleeve tops, tees and t-shirts, boots, jeans and outerwear pieces at a major discount. I’ve procrastinated in the past and have always missed out on some of the best items.
Applying for a Nordstrom card is really simple. You can apply directly for one here. There are no annual fees, you can earn bonus points 3X faster, and for a limited time, make any purchase at Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com or Nordstrom Rack on your new card the day you’re approved and get a $40 bonus Note for future use.
**Note** Nordstrom has the best customer service out of any retailer and they offer free shipping and free returns. If you don’t like something you purchased, Nordstrom makes it really easy to return your items, without or without a receipt.
Friday, July 12 -Thursday, July 18: “Early Access” Sale (card members only) online and in-store.
Friday, July 19: The NSALE officially opens to the entire public.
Sunday, August 4:LASTDAY of the NSALE before all items go back to full price.
Check back tomorrow for some of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks!
Casual bodycon and t-shirt dresses are my favorite kind of dresses to wear in the warmer months because they can be dressed up with heels or wedges or dressed down with a pair of sandals or sneakers. Lately I’ve been choosing the latter because I prefer comfort when I’m walking to and from the train station for work or running errands on the weekends. Plus, I’m a huge fan of mixing sporty and feminine pieces together because you can still look cute and dressy without overdoing it.
Check out some of my favorite bodycon and t-shirt dresses in one of my favorite patterns you can wear this summer for under $20!
Who’s got the hots for polka dots?! This darling dotty pattern is trending this season and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Polka dots first gained popularity when they came into fashion in the 1920s and is a trend that has stood the test of time. There are so many different styles to choose from and ways to rock this timeless and cheerful print so today I’m sharing my favorite polka dot pieces you should add to your wardrobe today!
It’s the first week of March which means we’re two weeks away from spring, more sunshine and warmer weather! Also, we “spring forward” this weekend for daylight savings so even though we might “lose” an hour of sleep, we gain that extra hour of natural daylight! I don’t know about you, but for me, having the extra hour of daylight after being cooped up in an office all day will be a welcome change.
Now that we’re slowly transitioning into spring, it’s also a good time to refresh our wardrobe for the warmer months ahead so today I’m sharing 8 simple ways to help you transition your winter wardrobe into spring!
Add color to your wardrobe. This is probably one of the easiest ways to add a touch of spring to your outfits. I tend to wear a lot of dark colors in the winter months so swapping out black for some brighter hues and soft pastels can make a huge difference.
Wear neutral tones. If you’re not a big fan of bright colors and prefer to play it safe, wearing light, neutral tones in cream, beige, tan and white is a great alternative. Neutral tones are classic and timeless that are worn year-round so invest in pieces in neutral tones that can easily transition from season to season.
Swap out heavy winter coats for light weight jackets and blazers (e.g. moto in denim, suede or leather, utility, quilted and trench coats). My outerwear collection has grown quite a bit over the years since coats and jackets are one of my favorite articles of clothing to shop for. If you don’t already, I’d suggest investing in one of each as a staple piece to add to your wardrobe.
Swap out winter and faux-fur boots for ankle booties, sneakers, pumps and flats. Now that the snow has melted (in some parts of the country), it’s time to step up your shoe game this spring so wear those new block heel booties or platform sneakers you’ve been itching to wear.
**Side Note** If you live in the Midwestern or Northeastern regions, you may not able to put away your OTK (over-the-knee) or knee high boots just yet so pair them with a floral mini dress and a leather jacket for a flirty and edgy look for spring.
Dress in layers and mix textures. As I mentioned above, depending on where you live, the weather this time of year can be unpredictable. It’s warm one day and cold the next so utilize different pieces in your closet for layering. Wear a chunky knit sweater in a brighter hue with a leather skirt and a cami underneath, pair lightweight joggers or trousers with a blouse and sweater, throw on your favorite cardigan over a long sleeve tee and jeans or opt for a leather jacket with a maxi or lace dress for a night out.
Add floral print and striped patterns. Floral print is ultra feminine and stripes always remind me of warmer days so swapping out solid colors for bold prints and patterns is another way to refresh your wardrobe for the warmer months.
**Side Note** Animal print is one of my favorite prints in the fall and winter months, but it’s here to stay for spring so don’t be afraid to mix and match your favorite leopard top with a pair of light colored denim or trousers.
Accessorize with silk and lightweight scarves, kimonos, baseball caps, panama hats and light colored jewelry and handbags. Accessorizing can make a casual and basic outfit more dressy and stylish so for the warmer months, opt for chiffon or silk scarves, add a floral kimono over a long sleeve tee or throw on a baseball cap or fedora with jeans, a tee shirt and your favorite moto jacket.
Wear light colored denim, corduroy, trouser and chino pants. I have over seven pairs of black denim in my closet that are my go-to in the winter months in addition to a few dark gray or dark indigo wash so if you tend to wear a lot of dark colors in the fall and winter, opt for a lighter wash, colored or white denim/pants for spring.
