The Must-Have Cold Weather Accessory: Poncho

Shop the Post

It’s poncho season! One of my favorite cold weather accessories that can make your outfit pop when you throw one on. Ponchos/capes are perfect for this time of year because they’re stylish, they keep you warm and can be styled a couple of different ways. You can throw one on over a pair of jeans, a basic top and a pair of booties like how I styled mine for a casual weekend look. A poncho/cape looks ultra chic over a dress or skirt with a long sleeve top and OTK boots, and you can even throw one on over a cute top, leggings and knee high or OTK boots for a comfy yet classy alternative. This cold weather accessory is a timeless piece that won’t go out of style so make sure to add one or two to your wardrobe if you don’t already have one. Below I’m linking 15 ponchos for under $30, under $50 and under $100 to keep you stylish and warm all season long.

20 Striped T-Shirt and Bodycon Dresses Under $20

Dress: Forever 21 (old) [similar] | Denim Jacket: H&M | Handbag: Louis Vuitton [similar and here] | Sneakers: Payless [similar] | Sunglasses: Quay

Casual bodycon and t-shirt dresses are my favorite kind of dresses to wear in the warmer months because they can be dressed up with heels or wedges or dressed down with a pair of sandals or sneakers. Lately I’ve been choosing the latter because I prefer comfort when I’m walking to and from the train station for work or running errands on the weekends. Plus, I’m a huge fan of mixing sporty and feminine pieces together because you can still look cute and dressy without overdoing it.

Check out some of my favorite bodycon and t-shirt dresses in one of my favorite patterns you can wear this summer for under $20!

Holiday Casual

LEGGINGS: Spanx | SWEATER: H&M (similar) | BEANIE: Express | SCARF: Walmart | BOOTIES: Nordstrom | HANDBAG: Louis Vuitton (similar and here)

Eek!  Can you believe it’s the first week of December and only 22 more days until Christmas?!  Holiday season is in full swing and this month is filled with social events (my favorite time of year).  What I love most about the holidays is getting together with friends and family and being able to get dressed up a little more festive.  Red is my favorite color to wear right after Thanksgiving and all through Christmas.

We started the month off with some Christmas shopping Saturday night and I had brunch yesterday with a couple of my gal pals at Meson Sabika in Naperville.  I had been wanting to go there for quite some time and didn’t even know they served brunch until my girlfriend made the resos.  It’s really cute and charming on the inside and they have it decorated for the holidays so if you’re in or near the western suburbs of Chicago and looking for a tasty brunch spot this holiday season, make sure to visit Meson Sabika.  The cost per adult is $34.95 which includes one mimosa and $16.95 for children (7-12 years old).  They’re also known for their tapas style dinner menu and it’s a popular venue for weddings and other special events.

What do you look forward to most this time of year?

Classic in Camel

COAT: Old Navy | TURTLENECK: Chadwicks of Boston [Similar]| DENIM: Old [Similar] | BOOTIES: Nine West [Similar and Here] | SCARF: Burberry [Similar under $20] | HANDBAG: Louis Vuitton [similar and here] | LIPSTICK: MAC (Faux)

Isn’t it just Unbe-LEAF-able that I snagged this modern classic peacoat for $33 from Old Navy?! I’m a sucker for coats and jackets and I always add several new outwear pieces to my coat collection each year.  Although I do already have a camel coat in a longer length, I just couldn’t resist this cute shorter style for the price to wear with jeans and leggings.

A camel coat is classic and timeless and most definitely a closet staple.  Camel is a neutral color and seriously goes with almost anything and it’s a nice alternative to black or gray.  You can shop some of my favorite styles in short and long lengths from $33+.

Thanks for stopping by! xo
