Eek! Can you believe it’s the first week of December and only 22 more days until Christmas?! Holiday season is in full swing and this month is filled with social events (my favorite time of year). What I love most about the holidays is getting together with friends and family and being able to get dressed up a little more festive. Red is my favorite color to wear right after Thanksgiving and all through Christmas.
We started the month off with some Christmas shopping Saturday night and I had brunch yesterday with a couple of my gal pals at Meson Sabika in Naperville. I had been wanting to go there for quite some time and didn’t even know they served brunch until my girlfriend made the resos. It’s really cute and charming on the inside and they have it decorated for the holidays so if you’re in or near the western suburbs of Chicago and looking for a tasty brunch spot this holiday season, make sure to visit Meson Sabika. The cost per adult is $34.95 which includes one mimosa and $16.95 for children (7-12 years old). They’re also known for their tapas style dinner menu and it’s a popular venue for weddings and other special events.
What do you look forward to most this time of year?
Isn’t it just Unbe-LEAF-able that I snagged this modern classic peacoat for $33 from Old Navy?! I’m a sucker for coats and jackets and I always add several new outwear pieces to my coat collection each year. Although I do already have a camel coat in a longer length, I just couldn’t resist this cute shorter style for the price to wear with jeans and leggings.
A camel coat is classic and timeless and most definitely a closet staple. Camel is a neutral color and seriously goes with almost anything and it’s a nice alternative to black or gray. You can shop some of my favorite styles in short and long lengths from $33+.
Happy Monday, all! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite plaid blanket scarves and suede boots that will keep you warm and cozy during these cooler months. The majority of the scarves below are under $20 (mine is $25) and I’ve also linked a few styles around $40. My suede knee high boots are from last season, but I’ve found a few that are very similar ranging from $40-$200.
Happy hump day, all! I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve last written a fashion post, but here we are!
So one of my favorite fall trends right now is flared jeans! Honestly, I wish this trend was just here to stay. Flared jeans/pants look the most flattering on my body type so you’ll see me rocking them here and there anyway. I’m just under 5’7 and I feel like they tend to make my legs look longer and accentuate my derrière. I think having at least one pair of dark flared denim in your closet is a must especially for us tall(er) girls.
Flared jean can be paired with a loose fitting top or slouchy sweater for that relaxed and casual bohemian vibe or if you want a more polished and sophisticated look, throw on a tailored blazer with a fitted top, bodysuit or cami underneath. There’s just something so chic about that classic 70s look that will just never go out of style, in my opinion.
What are your thoughts? Are you a fan of flares or no?
The sun is shining (finally) and in one week from today John and I will be en route to our long-awaited Italian dream vacation!! To say we’re excited is an understatement. We had been wanting/planning to go for the past couple of years, but other obligations had taken priority and now the days and nights of cobblestone street strolls while eating gelato and people watching in one of most beautiful and romantic countries is almost here. We’ll be staying in Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento while taking a couple of day trips to the Tuscan countryside, the Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri for a total of two weeks. I’ll make sure to do a recap of our trip once we get back. In the meantime, make sure to follow along on my Instagram.
On a side note, you can shop all outfit details of today’s casual look below! Have a great day.
