Spring has officially sprung and what better way to transition into spring than in this chic ‘Power of Love’ black strapless jumpsuit from LuLus.
A long wide leg jumpsuit is definitely my favorite article of clothing and one I think every woman should own. The right jumpsuit is flattering on most body types, can elongate your legs and torso and can certainly make you look and feel sexy while being comfortable.
Jumpsuits are favorable alternatives to cocktail dresses and a sleek black one is an ideal option for a night on the town, special events, including wedding receptions, or in my case, a photo shoot in the community park. 🙂 Strap on a pair of high heels, accessorize with statement jewelry, throw your favorite lipstick in your evening clutch and…voila!
***For reference I went with a size medium and you can shop more options below.
Happy Hump Day! Is anyone else having a hard time waking up this week and trying to adjust to the time change? I’m feeling so tired these days, but at least we’ve gained an extra hour of daylight and spring is just around the corner. Five days to be exact. Shades of pastels, lighter jackets, warmer weather, fresh blooms….I’m ready!
For today’s casual look, I went with neutral tones that include a blush pink sweater, beige trench coat and my brand new Nine West ‘Quicksand’ almond toe booties that were just under $50. They have a 3 1/2″ block heel, are extremely comfortable and the natural suede can go with almost anything; definitely a must this season. You can also buy them on Amazon.com if your size is sold out. My sweater (Banana Republic) and trench coat (Zara) are both from last year so I’ve only been able to link similar styles for you.
Happy Friday!! Since we’re going into the weekend and I typically tend to flock towards a black outfit as my go-to weekend look, I wanted to share an all black option that I paired with my new Calvin Klein wool-cashmere blend coat in camel to give it some contrast.
I’ve been wanting a camel coat for a while now because it’s a closet staple that goes with almost anything and is a great transitional outwear piece to keep you warm on those chilly nights yet is classic and chic.
I bought this coat at Macy’s about a month ago when it was marked down to more than half off. I prefer to wait until end of the season to buy my coats and fall/winter apparel for the following year because there are so many great deals as retailers are making room for their spring and summer inventory.
Macy’s currently has their super weekend sale going on where you can get up to an extra 15-20% off when you use code: WKND. This exact coat is almost sold out and with the additional 15% off, it retails for $144.49. Although it’s a little darker in person, I would highly recommend it if you can find it in your size. Similar styles are linked as well.
Hey All! I hope your week is off to a great start and you’re enjoying Fat Tuesday today! Shrove Tuesday does not exist for us Serbian Orthodox peeps, instead Clean Monday began yesterday for all Eastern Europeans, although I’ll probably continue to indulge in some of my favorite foods all through Easter.
Today, I want to share this royal blue mini skirt with knot detail that I recently found at Zara for $39.90. The last time I wore a mini skirt was for a Secret Santa brunch with my gal pals this past December, but prior to that I couldn’t tell you the last time I put on a short skirt. I guess you can say I’m stepping out of my comfort zone with this look.
I tend to cover up on top if I’m going to wear something short on the bottom and/or that’s going to reveal my legs. Same goes for covering up on the bottom when I’m wearing a more revealing top. Keep in mind ladies that sometimes less is definitely not more. Tights or nylons are great options for those cooler days when you still want to rock your favorite skirt or dress especially if you’re lazy like me and haven’t shaved your legs. 🙂 Even though I opted for black nylons, black opaque tights can really make your outfit stand out when adding a pop of color such as this royal blue shade.
Happy Valentine’s Day!! For those of you who celebrate this annual holiday and day of romance, I hope your day was just a little extra special and filled with love as I hope it is every day. John was out of town for an overnight work trip last night so I thought it would be fun to surprise him when he came home by writing all the different reasons I admire him and what I love about him on pink post-its (72 to be exact) that I stuck to his bathroom mirror and formed into the shape of a heart. If you’re looking for a simple yet thoughtful DIY idea to remind someone how special they are, then this is it. Thanks, Kimmie!
While my outfit tonight for our casual V-day dinner at a local sushi restaurant was a pair of jeans and a turtleneck, I wanted to share a red hot Valentine’s Day alternative with all of you. In my opinion, a red dress or any red article of clothing is always a great option when you want to stand out. Red is a bold and intense color associated with strength, power, passion, love, romance and desire which is why it is the predominant color associated with Valentine’s Day. According to science, red enhances men’s attraction towards women. So ladies, if you’re single and ready to mingle or want to turn up the heat with your significant other, don’t be afraid to add this bold and sexy color to your wardrobe.
A LRD (little red dress) such as this midi which features an off the shoulder neckline with ruffles is a great option for a night on the town. This red hot number was an online purchase from Windsor for only $27.90. I know. Cheap, right?! I’ve received a lot of compliments on this dress without mentioning where it was from or how much I spent so it goes to show that you don’t need expensive clothes to look good. Would it make a difference to some knowing where it’s from and how much it cost? Maybe! As long as YOU feel good and comfortable in what you’re wearing, that’s all that matters.
As I’ve stated before, I believe that a woman a can be beautiful and classy without breaking the bank. While I do like to splurge sometimes and purchase luxury items if and when I can (who doesn’t?), sometimes it’s not feasible or necessary. When you know how to dress for your body type and you feel comfortable in whatever you’re wearing, it really makes no difference if your dress is $30 or $300. Remember, money can’t buy you class. xoxo
***For reference, I typically go up a size in contemporary brands. I’m 5’6 with a 27-inch waist and went with medium. Click on the thumbnails to be directed to the exact retailer.
