As you know, I pride myself on being a budget savvy shopper and finding great deals while staying true to my style. When it comes to trendy, fashionable and affordable pieces, some of my go-to retailers include Lulus, H&M, Forever 21 and most recently, Tobi. You can find anything from dresses to rompers, outwear, tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories. They’re currently running a promotion for 50% off sitewide with code WS50 including three of my summer picks that I’m wearing in today’s post.
Since I’m slightly obsessed with nautical inspired color combos which evoke a sense of tranquility and bring seasides and the Hamptons to mind, I paired this Meg Stripe Cold Shoulder Top ($22) with white skinny jeans and wedges for a casual and relaxed summer look.
This off-the-shoulder Palm Paradise Swing Dress ($34) is ideal for an outdoor party on a warm summer night and the perfect item to pack up for your next tropical vacation because of it’s lightweight material and palm leaf design.
Two of my favorite trends are cold-shoulder and bell sleeves so you can imagine my excitement when I found this Dahlia Cold Shoulder Blouse ($24). The cold shoulder with bell sleeve combo along with its flowy silhouette and scoop back that I paired with my dark blue skinny jeans and strappy heels is ideal for a night out.
Hey guys! Happy Sunday!! It’s a hot one today so you’ll find me lounging poolside on my day off before heading back to work tomorrow.
As you can see, this is the first post I’ve written since June. I’ve had to deal with some setbacks over the past couple of months due to my dad’s health which has put me in a bit of a funk, making it difficult to stay motivated and work on my blog (as if it isn’t already difficult to stay motivated at times). Since February and soon after my aunt passed away, my dad has been in and out of the hospital due to complications after a coronary angiogram and infections in his gallbladder, in addition to coronary heart disease which led to his second open heart surgery and a double by-pass on July 3rd. I’m happy to report that he’s back home and recovering well. I’ve spent the past week over by my parents’ spending time with him and it’s nice to see him in good spirits. We’re taking it one day at a time.
On a more exciting note, I had been asked to collaborate with the iconic brand, Lauren Ralph Lauren, to promote their Summer 2017 Collection and share a couple of their modern and timeless pieces with all of you. This striped-off-the-shoulder cotton dress is the perfect choice for a day like today when you just want to throw something on to sit by the pool and relax in. It’s 100% cotton, has an elasticized neckline that can be worn on or off the shoulders, short ruffled sleeves and a shift silhouette which makes it super comfortable and easy to move in. When transitioning from day to night, opt for a pair of wedges or heels to create an effortlessly chic summer look.
Good morning! I hope you’re all having a great week so far. I can’t believe it’s the last day of May and summer is officially just a few weeks away!
In today’s post, I’m combining gray, white and black for a minimal, sleek and edgy look. I’ve mentioned before, you can transform a basic outfit like a pair of jeans and shirt and make it look more stylish just by adding a pair of sexy heels or your favorite moto jacket. One of my favorite jackets is this tailored slim fit BLANKNYC faux leather jacket with zip accents from Nordstrom because it has a feminine cut with urban edge to it. For $98, this jacket is a must-have. My white top with ruffle details gives this casual and edgy look a more feminine twist.
As you all know, I primarily wear neutral colors and rarely will you see me in such vivid and vibrant hues. When I do wear bright colors, I find myself drawn to different shades of blue or pastels over bright shades of pink, but I do love how this shade of pink pops against a pair of white jeans and a sun kissed glow. As with anything, it never hurts to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and different in fashion. If you’re like me and prefer neutral or subtle shades, then adding bright colors to your wardrobe for the summer is a good way to start.
My tunic is from Lulus from a while back, but I’ve linked several tops in this exact color from Nordstrom, including a few that are currently 40% off thanks to Nordstrom’s half yearly sale going on now through June 4.
